I agree that $35 an hour is the dividing line for the glorified
secretarial work. But it also depends on which recruiters are reselling
the contract and how many of them are splitting the markup on the rate. A
$75 an hour position can become a $35 or $45 an hour position very
quickly. A $45 an hour position $25. If you can't bill direct, keep
contact info on the agencies that have low enough overhead that they can
offer a little bit more on a contract.
