Re: The sky is starting to fall again
Thus, the screen rendering for NeXT was referred to as "Display
PostScript" while the rendering for OS X is called "Display PDF".
That's correct. Display PDF.
I am not aware of how they do screen capture on OS X, however. Is
it a simple pixel grab, or is there a tool that can capture the
PDF? If so, that would seem to be a superior system for later
reproduction.
Pixels, close as I can tell. The native screen capture function
(Cmd+Shift+3, Cmd+Shift+4) will save the cap as a PDF, but it's just
a bitmap -- no editable text. Too bad. In looking around quickly,
I don't see any aftermarket products that'll do 'rich' captures,
either. Seems the hooks aren't in place for reaching into Display PDF.
