Ah, academia. It's no coincidence that it rhymes with a nut. ;-)

Trying to convince PhD-weilding people who work in a vacuum that their
way isn't perhaps the best way is not unlike jumping around on a clear
night trying to snatch stars from the sky.

My advice is to either play along and accept the paycheck, be
subversive and work with the other writers anyway, or directly
challenge the PhDs once you have data that you're working much more
inefficiently than before.

Of course, you need "before" and "after" data... PhDs like proof.
