If you get offered the position and decide to take it, there are a few books I can recommend. (You may want to read them anyway, but it's a lot to do quickly. Whether you have the job or not, it will give you a better idea of how business and markets work.)

"The Product Manager's Handbook" by Linda Gorchels has lots of very practical information and how-to's about product management and its aspects.

All the books by Geoffrey Moore. "Crossing the Chasm," "Inside the Tornado," etc.

Definitely ask a lot of questions in the interview about the role and its responsibilities. Are they looking for someone strategic? Tactical? I think everyone else did a nice job of trying to explain some of the nuances. If they are looking for someone with a true product management background, the fit could be tough. On the other hand, there are a lot of ways that tech writing crosses over nicely.
