I would suggest that the 'proper' MS Word style(s) change
a) with the first time you make a change to 'normal.dot', or
b) make a change to an individual paragraph.
c) do a 'cut and paste' from another document.

BTW: These are 3 cases where I know that a style can change without a
notification to the 'writer'. I know that there are others.
