Sorry, Michele. Table captions are not something I use
regularly, so I skipped it. However, with such an empassioned
plea... <g> So, I played with it.
As far as I can tell, just making a style named Table Caption
doesn't cut it. You have to go to the table and then select
Insert > Reference > Caption to get a real caption. When I
did this, the caption did show up in the cross-reference db.
But if you've already done most of the document, this is
going to be labor-intensive to fix. The alternative is to
globally replace all of your Table Caption styles with a
built-in heading style that you're not using (formatted to
match, of course). Then you can cross-ref to the heading
paragraphs.
