Here in the UK I found (when I was in that situation - perm at the
moment) that, generally, the agency cut ranged from 10-15%. However, if
they felt they could get away with taking more they would! I see no
problem with asking but not sure if you'll get an answer or, if you do,
how accurate it will be.

One company I worked with, when this Q was raised, replied that it
didn't matter how much the company was paying the agency so long as we
were happy with what the agency was paying us.

I remember one year we were after a 6% rise and were told that the
company were cutting back (not such a big rise) to which a colleague
replied, It doesn't matter how much the company is paying you so long as
we're happy with what you're paying us. :-)
