Subject:Re: A PDA in every pocket? From:Edwin Skau <eddy -dot- skau -at- gmail -dot- com> To:"TECHWR-L" <techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Wed, 19 Oct 2005 09:40:07 -0700
Hi,
I've had a PDA for a while now. The last time I saw it was when I was
looking for spare batteries in the drawer I use to store such stuff.
I must have used it for a couple of months to check out a whole bunch
of demo software, then used it to keep my daughter busy with the
scribble pad during PTA meetings.
Somehow, with a cell phone organizer and a laptop, a PDA felt like a
third wheel. Excess baggage.
Then there was this problem with carrying it around. It occupies all
of a shirt pocket, and can fall out every now and then; raises a lump
in my pocket like a bundle of happiness; and I don't like clipping
stuff to my belt.
I couldn't see how it would help me at work any more than my existing gizmos.
Now if it had a speech-based interface I'd probably be interested, but
I'd still prefer that on my cell phone.
