Martin,
Your friend will need to switch from Print Layout View to Normal (otherwise
repagination is always on). When in Normal View, they need to choose Tools |
Options | General, and make sure that Background repagination is deselected.

Subject: Stopping automatic repagination of Word
Hello!
I have a friend who's being bedeviled by a very large proposal written in
Word. The document controls keep automatically repaginating the document
every time she makes a change. I've never seen this before, but I put
nothing past Word in terms of stupidity. :)
Are there any tips to preventing automatic repagination of a large Word
document? I've looked at the Help files, and they are, naturally, not
helpful.
