Spotted this on copyediting-l, but don't recall seeing it here on techwr-l. Since we've often discussed the concept of certification and accreditation, here's something of possible interest to techwhirlers:

I know nothing about this project other than what appears on their Web site, but I suspect that if it works, having an ISO standard attached to our profession will provide a measure of credibility among engineers and other worshippers of standards that certification from a professional society would take much longer to achieve.
