Project 11 is an initiative to develop an ISO standard for documents
and the documentation process. It does not address skills or
qualifications, only the finished product and how it is created.

I know nothing about this project other than what appears on their Web site, but I suspect that if it works, having an ISO standard attached to our profession will provide a measure of credibility among engineers and other worshippers of standards that certification from a professional society would take much longer to achieve.
