I've been lurking here for 3 or 4 months and have learned many interesting things. I'm taking a technical communication course at the moment and plan to take several more. My professional background is in academic publishing in production and acquisitions and I do freelance work along those lines, but I've worked at the university here (Arizona State) for the last 18 months. I recently moved from a position as a proofreader to one as a desktop publishing specialist and am in the throes of learning FrameMaker.

I am working on a project for my tech comm course that involves preparing a recommendation report. Part of what I will be recommending to my audience (a growers association) involves websites. I have done a fair bit of research for work that relates to the basics of web design and can draw on that knowledge, but I also need to be able to advise my audience on factors involved in choosing a company/person to create and possibly maintain their site (or sites).

Bottom line is that I'm looking for a few SMEs to "interview" for my report. I have a list of questions and would be interested in other input as well. If any of you out there who design and maintain websites would be willing to be "interviewed" please contact me off list. I'll be happy to provide more details of my project, audience analysis, etc.

Thank you!

Susan
