I very rarely post to this list, if ever, but I have to chime in on this
particular issue. I agree with Michele in her assessment of the
situation. How does one know he or she is **cute**? Is it from looking
in the mirror? Someone else's opinion? And more importantly, why is that
part of her concern for her safety? Do you have to be cute to find
yourself in a precarious position? I always thought is was more about
bad timing and not understanding the cultural differences, but maybe I
have been wrong all of these years and have never had a problem because
I am not **cute** or blonde. I am just a good technical writer. What do
I know?

OK. Perhaps I was over-reacting, but as I stated before the blonde and
cute thing annoyed me. Where are the women on techwhirler? Not one woman
has answered this post, It's guys, and well we all know men and women
think differently.

How about Israel. Major dress restrictions. Armed men everywhere it
seems. It's all a matter of perspective. You have to some how fit in,
just like my Bulgarian exchange student.

I've had good experiences in India, and in the States with Indian
programmers. Now, again, it's all about perspective. I'm a pretty
aggressive chick and can take care of potential problems. Heck, I deal
with it weekly at events in the Midwest. LOL.
