Re: an easy way to confuse Adobe bookmarks
What I've "discovered" is that if your Normal style's paragraph spacing is
set at 0 pts before and 12 pts after, it screws up the accuracy of the
bookmarks. You click a bookmark and it takes you maybe 1/4 inch after the
heading/destination it's supposed to jump to. It makes it so you can't see
the heading really, or the heading is only partially visible.

Are your heading styles (specifically your Heading 1 style) "based on" normal or on none? Something to check.
