Employee: The link on the Stealth Office 9000 intranet home page to
reach the PDF documentation is broken.
IT Help: Ahhh--yes, to prevent you from inadvertently copying the
documentation we've taken the precaution of hiding it so you can't even
FIND the documentation in the first place.
Employee: Oh, ok. In that case, since I can't have access to the PDF,
can I ask you to look something up for me?
IT Help: Umm... no.
Employee: No? Why not?
IT Help: Because it's been hidden from us as well. Stealth Office 9000
is the latest in the advanced line of Stealth applications our company
is marketing. They're so secret, even Technical Support is not allowed
to look at the help files.
Employee: You're not allowed... Wait a minute--this is our flagship
product! What the heck is going on? How are we going to support the
product when customers call with questions?
IT Help: Stealth products require stealth documentation and stealth
customer service. When a customer calls with a question because they
can't find the online documentation, we'll deny the product even exists
and deny that the customer could have bought it because we never
marketed it. In fact, the Stealth 9000 product line is so secret, we're
not even permitting our engineers to know they are developing it in the
first place...
