Every time I see a hollow bullet I want to find a sharpened No. 2 pencil and fill in the selected circle, being careful not to leave stray marks outside the ... oh, wait a minute, that was a thread on another list. Sorry. Is it Friday yet?

But yeah, count me in the anti-hollow-bullet (and anti-hollow-point-bullet) camp. Less is more. And by that I mean that having fewer distinct symbols for the reader to intuit is better than having more of them. If a list has to have two levels, use indents, but keep the symbol the same. Better yet, just use indents and leave the symbol out altogether.
