Two topics of note:

-- Earlier this week, the new evangelist for FrameMaker did a
webinar/teleconference, and had a lot to say about ongoing Frame
development at Adobe; we even got a quick glimpse of a DITA plug-in
"available for free download soon."

-- The folks over at MadCap Software have pre-announced something
called "Blaze," which appears to be an XML-based package for authoring
long technical documents, and looks aimed to compete squarely with
Frame:

Interesting times ahead.
