In regard to API tech writing, I would like to refer people to the STC
Silicon Valley chapter's SIGAPI group. We have a web site at
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/svcstcapi/. Since we're in Silicon Valley,
we have many job opportunities and questions regarding API documentation
for many different languages, including C++/C# and of course Java.

You could take a programming class and see how you do. If you like it,
you might want to try API tech writing -- the best of both worlds! ;-)
