The primary issues with wikis in a technical writing/business/product
information situation is, who are the reviewers and what steps are
being taken to verify and clear information before it is posted?  
It's one thing for a company to provide an open forum for its users 
to exchange experiences, information, tips, etc., with a few designated 
company "hall monitors" taking issues through internal processes and 
then replying, another to allow all your developers free reign to post
away.  Most of us can probably recall at least one anecdotal incident 
in which some person or another in a company replying to an email 
or phone call from a customer transmitted some bit of information 
or another that was either untested for its consequences (a fix for one 
problem not checked for effects in other areas) or was sensitive IP 
that the company considered "company confidential."    It's an issue 
that usually isn't on the radar when one is looking for the current GDP 
of Lichtenstein or the name of the guy Paris Hilton was dating in 1998.
