I'm just astounded that they couldn't break it. Cripes - all the engineers
or admins at my last job had to do to break one of my templates was paste
text from somewhere else, click on the number or bullet buttons, or maybe
use format painter a few times. Did they hand it over to a casual Word user?
Bet that'd break it. ;-)

Still recovering from my wounds,
-Karen

Subject: How do you test/try to break a Word template?

Pardon me if this is an inane question. Recently, a client told us that a
Word (2000) template we had created from them passed their testing ("we
tried to break it and couldn't - it's good").

Testing software is something I understand. Testing a template - I'm totally
in the dark about that! Nor did Google, the TECHWR-L archives, or
word.mvps.org searches provide anything helpful. Probably I'm using the
wrong search terms.

Could someone here please throw some light on this "template testing"
and how one goes about doing it? It would be nice if we could have a set of
tests to apply to the templates we create...

Thanks in advance,
Ed.
