Here is another way of thinking about this issue: How many times have you seen a TW job listing asking for someone with 30 years of expereince?

Frankly, I have never seen such. It appears that most employers want 3 to 5 years experience; some want 7 to 10 years. To me it appears that most employers think that TW's (or developers for that matter) don't get much better beyond 5 to 10 years of experience. I guess they feel that beyond 10 years of experience we all kind of enter into a long-term dull funk.
