I read the digest, so forgive me if this has already been said.

MS Word can help you with the smaller differences among versions of  
English. Use Tools-->Language to choose the English version you need,  
and the grammar and spelling checker will highlight details you might  
have overlooked. You can also define a style to include the language.

This certainly won't catch larger issues like idioms and cultural  
differences, but it will identify spelling variations and the  
occasional difference in prepositions.

It also helps, of course, to examine the wording used in the source  
materials, listen closely to the terms used by the client and SME,  
and increase your exposure to news and other information from the  
culture for which you're writing.
