Yes I have, though not in as much detail yet as I would want. Effectively,
customising the ribbon, (except for adding buttons to the Quick Access
toolbar immediately below) will either require developer knowedge to design
the XML that defines the toolbar for a template, or the use of a third-party
utility to do the job for you. Word MVP Patrick Schmid has created a
RibbonCustomizer add-in. I have not yet had a chance to play with it, but I
suspect it will become an essential tool for those who have to customize the
UI for any Office application.
