TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.

It's not technical writing?
Thank you, John.

But we already KNOW this, or we should. The discussion was labeled
"Off-topic" and therefore flagged as not related to technical writing. I
didn't read the message and I'm not about to. I don't mix tech writing
with either politics or religion. Things were clearly tagged and I
stayed away.
However, I still think we need a separate but equal forum for
discussions not strictly related to technical writing. Take a look at
how www.equipped.org <http://www.equipped.org/> does it. Equipped talks
about how to be "Equipped to Survive" various situations in life. They
also have an "Around the Campfire" forum where anything goes.
