What I'd like to add to this discussion is that you should communicate
positivity about yourself and your future, as well as positivity about the
current company to the extent that you can, and thereby leave the company on
a positive note. Make the karma positive. Keep the karma positive.

... we're dealing with nepotism and an "Old Boy's Network" that has just
gotten too stale. I've hit a golden ceiling and there's no way through...It
would be in the company's best interest to bring in some new leadership (let
the CEO be President, but allow someone else to run the company, etc.) But
you're right. Ego...Oh well. No longer a concern of mine. On to bigger,
better, and more lucrative things...hehehehe.

About a different matter ct said:

...The Police took care of it...My lawsuit was from the point of me against
the Company. Unfortunately, The Company in question happened to be a major
newspaper in the State...the potential for damage (to me) was too great - so
I simply walked away...Trust me, I take crap from no one..heheh. But there
are some battles that I choose not to fight. Karma did come back and get
them, however. That's another story...
