The Microsoft guy who came to tout Office 2007 over
here said that the Ctrl sequences work as familiar
but the Alt sequences generally don't because Alt
accesses the menus and 2007 doesn't have that kind
of menus. As a gesture of noblesse oblige, though,
Microsoft made an exception for the Alt+F family
of shortcuts, preserving many of them.
