The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
I'm one of the lucky ones in this. I work on an API for a product that,
so far, has no external app developers. Our new internal app developers
get their orientation by reading my docs and use them for reference as
well, so I find out quickly what is incorrect or unclear. They also
have suggestions for me.
The first round or two of external developers will be in close contact
with us, so I guess my luck will hold for a while longer. If things go
well I'll be part of the group training new developers, so I expect this
luck to hold.
