RE: POLL: indexing jobs
All this talk of indexes (and my recent work experience with same) has made me wonder about something.
Are there salaried positions where indexing is the only work done?
Do most writers index as part of their writing jobs?
-- there are two basic categories of index -- back of the book index, and research databases which index reference material -- publishing houses may outsource back of the book indexes, whereas research databases are made through an extensive process that involves full-time staff --
the major database producers, a list of which is at any library, would have job listings --
