Hi Nancy,

The fewer the better. I use bold for user actions (as you described
them), and sometimes monospace for code. C'est tout.

Brief system messages can be in quotation marks ("I'm sorry Dave, I'm
afraid I can't do that.") Long system messages can be in indented
paragraphs.

Field names and window titles can be titled-capped.

The idea of subjecting my readers to a Typographical Conventions
table... ick. LNGT.
