In Hackos and Stevens "Standards for Online Communication", they discuss the 12 building blocks of information design (Action, Condition, Data, Definition, Demonstration, Description, Feedback, Illustration, Interaction, Navigation, Option, Purpose) and reference David Farkas and Robert Horn. The bibliography does not cite either of these writers. Does anyone know the original source of the "12 Building Blocks"?
