If you are working alongside/from within the dev team then the type of
questions you'll be asking (why do...? Why would...? What should...?) will
push business requirement type info out of the process anyway. Gather them
as you go along and keep them handy.

Weren't you the one who was trying to force them to redesign a GUI when they
didn't want to? Now you're trying to force them to create business
requirements when they don't want to.

Even I'm starting to think along the lines of "What is he...a troublemaker?
Doesn't he have enough to do for what we pay him?"

Just a thought...take it or leave it.

And no...I wouldn't try to force it on them. You suggest it, then leave it
up to them. You tried. Don't become a pest.
