Well you can't see a problem that doesn't happen. So you can't really say what difference the QA makes. I took a usability testing class with several tech writers that worked for a very lage bank. They were in the class partly because of a recent product release the bank made with no QA. It was a customer relations nightmare, so the bank went on a usability testing and QA quest. They paid dearly for that little bit of penny pinching.
