Brushing up on tech skills

  Look at the job postings for the kind of job you want and see what they are asking for. Common tools are Robohelp and FrameMaker. Both programs are expensive, but there are help authoring tools that are free that you can work with to get the concepts down.
   
  You might also want to review the Microsoft style guide, you can download if free from the Microsoft site.
