Subject:RE: Word numbering -- an alternative From:"Dan Goldstein" <DGoldstein -at- riverainmedical -dot- com> To:<techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Fri, 13 Apr 2007 11:43:22 -0400
I put the AUTONUMLGL field in every chapter heading (I happen to use the
/e switch, but that's a matter of taste). If you don't want the chapter
number displayed and printed, you can insert the field as hidden text.
If you then insert the AUTONUMLGL field in figure captions, it will
number them with the chapter number and a sequential sub-number.
If you want separate numbering systems for figures, tables, etc., you
should use SEQ fields. In that case, the chapter number could be
inserted using a switch or a bookmark.
Thanks,
Dan Goldstein
