"Collect for Output" type function in FrameMaker 7?
Subject:"Collect for Output" type function in FrameMaker 7? From:"Eric Thomas" <ethomas -at- ftdi -dot- com> To:<techwr-l -at- lists -dot- techwr-l -dot- com> Date:Fri, 13 Apr 2007 17:58:22 -0500
Hi all.
I'll be the first to admit that, in the heat of a project, I'm not always
the most organized when it comes to importing images into FrameMaker
documents. Ideally, I'd put all files into an images folder near the
FrameMaker documents. Realistically, about 75% end up there, with the other
25% scattered between my desktop, a folder from an old project, and
somewhere else where I'm sharing files between FrameMaker and InDesign.
One of the tools that both InDesign and QuarkXPress both have is a collect
for output/package function. I usually use this to get all of my files,
fonts, etc., together to send out for printing. But, I have been known to
use it to find all the files in a project and archive them somewhere else,
or to just get organized.
Does anyone know if anything like this is possible in FrameMaker so I can
find all of my straggler images without intentionally breaking the project
and having to find them to relink them?
