One of the most important pieces of my portfolio is a hard-copy "before"
piece with my red-ink markups. I'm able to illustrate not only the
corrections I was suggesting, but my thought processes as well.

It does not hurt that the original was quite rough and the markups showed
major improvements.

Both times I used this piece, I was offered the job. Did not accept one of
the offers.
