OK, the Alzheimers has kicked in, just as I was taking this thread to a
colleague. I've forgotten a specific word or phrase. It's || this far
from
the tip of my tongue.

What is the term or phrase for something that's a widely known term,
perhaps
associated with a company, or just with a specialty or area of inquiry,
but
it's NOT trademark or copyright...? It's a working term. It's a ....
what?

We'll all recognize it (even I will) as soon as somebody figures out
what
the heck I'm trying to describe.

"Term of work"? Nope.

"Term of getting on with it"... Nah.

"Term of endearment"? Uh-uh.

"Craft-phrase"? Not.

Gack! Hope I haven't poisoned the well with those attempts. It's not
jargon, it's..... it's.... drat!

Somebody help me out here.

Kevin (who will startle the wife when he sits bolt upright in bed
tonight
shouting "That's IT!!)
