My company sponsored a workshop on requirement writing last winter, thank 
goodness :-). The trainer gave us a really good book to use as a reference 
tool:  "Customer-Centered Products - Creating Successful Products Through 
Smart Requirements Management" by Ivy Hooks and Kristin Farry.

All,

I could use a little help (actually, a lot of help):

 I was asked to learn to write requirements (business , high-level,
functional.I don't know what the difference is between them) for a new Web
portal, as well as create user stories and software specs. I am looking 
for
any good books (or other information) on how to get up to speed quickly on
these topics. 

I would also appreciate any templates that others have found helpful.
