Also, I think it's perfectly possible to be a good technical author
without having the faintest idea what a declarative sentence is called,
as long as you know how and when to use one.

Having had a closer look, it also assigns 'correctness' to some things
that are entirely stylistic, such as use of the Oxford comma.

Furthermore, the software development terms are entirely irrelevant,
unless you actually need a technical author who knows those specific
things. For example, if you're a web application developer looking for
someone to write user guides, why would you give a monkey's whether they
knew about SQL operations?

It's what the 'test' /doesn't/ test that stands out for me. Where's the
information structuring?
