TechWhirl (TECHWR-L) is a resource for technical writing and technical communications professionals of all experience levels and in all industries to share their experiences and acquire information.
For two decades, technical communicators have turned to TechWhirl to ask and answer questions about the always-changing world of technical communications, such as tools, skills, career paths, methodologies, and emerging industries. The TechWhirl Archives and magazine, created for, by and about technical writers, offer a wealth of knowledge to everyone with an interest in any aspect of technical communications.
Have you ever looked at Copyscape.com? The owner of that site provides a
utility to scan the 'net for your text, and he provides all the information
you would ever need to take care of "people" (!) like this.
I found some of my Web copy and my site design being "sold" as a "template"
by a personal chef organization by using Copyscape to check for my wording.
You might want to take a look. The site used to provide letter templates to
send to the offender :-) I called mine and threatened legal action. They
were nasty, but after I called a few of their customers and told them they
had been sold "templates" that were copyrighted, the bad guys took the stuff
down. And their customers insisted on it too.
Good luck!
