State of the Union?

Fellow TCs,

I have been asked to track down some stats for the Korean edition of Newsweek magazine (don't worry, I'm not a marketer, just one of many TCs who is looked upon to answer all kinds of questions).

I wonder if any list members can help provide some insight on the following or point me to some recent statistics:

- How many US universities are currently offering Tech Writing/Communication degree programs? (International?)
- Any estimate of the size of the "user guidance" industry (# of professionals creating user guidance, dollars spent on user guidance annually, etc.)

I'm kind of at a loss here and, of course, these stats are "needed" ASAP.

I can't promise any fame and glory, but I'll gladly reveal my sources...
