A couple of months ago, I emailed the list asking for advice on how to best
get ready for the switch from Word to DITA-structured FrameMaker. I got a
lot of great help and feedback.
Well, I've got the tools all ready to go, and I'm going to start the
conversion soon. (gulp!)
The old Word docs are now in decent shape, but still far from perfectly
structured. I'm looking at these hundreds of pages and starting to picture
myself going through them, line-by-line, and copying the text into XML.
Before I start this long and boring task...has anyone found a decent
shortcut? I have tried saving Word files as XML, HTML, etc, but that frankly
just seems to add layers of confusion. If anyone has any bright ideas,
please let me know.
