Superscript Subscript in Illy 9?

A quick tool question to tame a renegade illustration that's headed for
Frame: I'm running Adobe Illustrator 9 on a PC. Is there a way to
superscript or subscript individual characters -- or at least fudge
enough to create a convincing facsimile?
