I've been gender-suspect ever since my arches crashed and I had to start
wearing sensible shoes.
I do remember back in the late 70's when I started applying for tech
writer jobs and was told several times I couldn't be considered because
I didn't have a degree in mechanical engineering. Turns out it was just
what they told all the "girl" applicants.
