A couple of more technological solutions, not necessarily easier or
better unless you have the software and are inclined:
Since MS Word doesn't give you much for free when the task is data
management, your best solution might be a small database with two forms,
one for pet record maintenence and one for displaying the sorted pet
records. MS Access has (had?) visual tools that make creating
databases, forms, and queries pretty easy. There must be a lot of ways
to accomplish the same thing with free software too.
Create HTML or Microsoft Word content and convert to Help file formats or
