Unfortunately, the specific question OP chose to ask was whether
it was ethical to disqualify the candidate based on his/her opposing
political views, not on the time, place and manner in which those
views were expressed, i.e., the same choices of time, place and
manner would not have represented a problem for the hiring
decision had they been displayed by a candidate who shared the
group's views.
