Well, I don't do that, but if I did, I'd be working with the
_source_files_, not the help deliverables. What's the help being
authored in -- FM, Word, RoboHelp, Flare, Notepad, ...? I'd either do
your editing in the authoring application, or I'd create (or have the
authors create) an edit copy in the authoring application (by printing
or creating a PDF or exporting to...) and mark that up. I wouldn't try
to mark up the Help.
