My understanding when Framemaker 7 came out was that it was radically
different from the previous versions. I was using 6 at the time and a
client with whom I had to share files was using 7. We had to upgrade to 7
or I would not have been able to read her files, and she could not save
her 7 files as 6 unless they had started out as 6, were worked in 7, then
"saved as" 6.

Now I'm just hoping a client will need me to convert to 8 so that I can
upgrade again!
