I use conditional tags in Help & Manual. RoboHelp and Flare have similar
functionality. Since help authoring tools (HATs) enable me to create
on-line help and printed docs (PDFs), the business case for using a HAT
is relatively strong. On top of this, I found the learning curve for
Help & Manual and RoboHelp to be relatively shallow. I also really value
how easy it is to hyperlink and reuse info.

I am using Word to manage multiple versions of the
same user guide for several customers. I know that
RoboHelp can handle customized builds.

However, I am considering Structured Framemaker as a
solution.

What do you use to efficiently manage multiple
customizations to the same content?
