Alright,

I think some of you are typing "The Sky Is Falling" between your lines.

Look at Utah for an example of how working godless hours of overtime is
killing Tech Writers.

This State has one of the higher concentrations of TW's in the nation. It
also has one of the LOWEST pay rates for said TW's. ($44,000 in 2006 -
http://www.school-for-champions.com/techwriting/salary.htm)

If you take into account that many TW's are willing to put in between 48-50
hour work weeks? That salary becomes ridiculously low.

When you say starting salaries will drop 15-20%? Of course they will! HR
isn't dumb, they realize their sheep are going to start working a correct
Hour to $ ratio, so they'll just adjust it to compensate.

Now, realize that overtime (AKA working for Free) only hurts us. We are
being paid to be less efficient. If you're okay with that? Great! If not? Do
something.
